From Clay to Sound – A Tribute to Cargaleiro is a contemporary music project based on the work of the artist Manuel Cargaleiro, which seeks to bring into the soundscape the profound reflection on the compositional processes evident in his painting and ceramics. Thus, rather than a mere translation of colour into sound, it is an exploration of the organisational forms that underpin Cargaleiro’s work. The original compositions by Carlos Marecos, Tiago Derriça, Gonçalo Lourenço, Ana Roque and Sara Carvalho are performed by Clara Gonçalves (saxophones), Francisco Martins (accordion) and Pedro Vasquinho (double bass).
